Global Education, Global Career: Why I Chose UCL for French with Management

Hi everyone! My name is Ayla Zanalova, and I’m a 19-year-old second-year student at UCL (University College London), studying French with Management. My experience here has been everything I hoped for, and I wanted to share a bit about what brought me here and why I made these choices.

Choosing Excellence and Location

One of the main reasons I picked UCL was its outstanding academic profile. Being ranked Number 10 in the UK and Number 13 in the world means I have access to unparalleled resources, which makes it easier to achieve the best results throughout my academic career.

But education isn’t just about what happens in the lecture hall; it’s about the environment. UCL’s central London location is unbeatable. I love the freedom of being right in the heart of the city—it makes getting anywhere I want quick and easy, adding so much to my student experience.

The Perfect Skill Set: French and Business

My chosen degree, French with Management, is the perfect blend of passion and practicality.

  • French: I’ve had a long-time passion for French, studying it for four years at my previous school in Brighton. I wanted to continue it, not just as a subject, but as a lifelong hobby.

  • Management: Pairing it with business management gives me a great set of versatile skills. This combination will allow me to pursue a career in nearly any setting, maybe even opening my own business someday!

Embracing the UK: Multiculturalism and Convenience

I chose the UK as my study destination for two main reasons:

  1. Multicultural Environment: The UK is incredibly diverse, which means I get to make friends from all over the world. This is essential for me, as it will help me realize my dream of future travel and exploration.

  2. Accommodation: The logistics were also easy! The UK offers many flexible and excellent accommodation options, complete with convenient amenities like laundry and parking, regardless of the university you choose.

My Best Advice: Trust Your Support System

For anyone considering studying abroad, my best piece of advice is simple: rely on Caspian Hazri.

No matter what kind of issues or emotional struggles you face during the application process or when settling in, you should know that you can relax and trust the staff. They are always there to help resolve issues, acting as an essential bridge between you and the university. They guide you from the very beginning to the end of the process, ensuring your voice is heard and your needs are met.

Always trust them, and don’t hesitate to let them know how you feel—emotionally and practically.
